Garimi  Sorry it took my retard self so long to get back into my account. I am just hiding and sulking in CoH since Blizzard announced the McTalent "trees" = never going back to WoW and yet more nerfs hit SWTOR making me not really wanting to fight my vent, settings and internet to play it

The inconvenient truths behind betas | GamesRadar
What's that you say? You're just playing it? You're an intelligent, free-thinking, anti-establishment individual, and there's no way you'd help out a global mega-corporation wit...

Xy'xala  It's not advertised as a demo though, people are led to believe it's a genuine beta test when well, it's not, that's the thing. If they could just be honest in their advertising it'd be fine, it's the abuse of goodwill i don't like, especially when some people genuinely spend hours trying to help out not realising they are being (haha) played by these companies.

And ratings mean very very little, perhaps nothing on the internet, hehe. I started roleplaying when i was about 11, used to say that I was 18 to not get banned from places, fast learners learn fast (but that doesn't make it ok to take advantage of those less able to defend themseles, for the same reason I don't think phishing etc is ok though there could be the argument that if people are stupid they deserve it, often people just can't help it because they are either naturally slow learners or have been sheltered and not learnt cynicism yet - innocence shouldn't be a crime I think)
Kyada  Being someone with friends in the games industry: They can (genuinely) be both at the same time. There are developers out there (Raph Koster, etc) that genuinely use them to test software (Metaplace, SW:G, etc) and there are developers out there that use it as viral marketing (Cryptic Studios, for example) like with STO or Age of Conan with Funcom that tested on the side. I think you'll find that the people that use it for genuine testing do better in the long run than people who use it for viral marketing.

Just my two cents.
Xy'xala  Oh, did you see my reply in the prev thread? By the way, I only played about 3 games over about as many days at gamescom, most of my time was backstage talking to people whilst looking a hell of a lot better than the old farts hehehe. [link] :) Sony run goooood parties. EA had some good singing... I can't remember what they were singing anymore though. What is the colour of the boathouse at hereford... etc *lol* :) [link][link] ... or more appropriate; [link]
Xy'xala  Has the spam message from the SWTOR-RP wannabe-hitlers ( [link] ) disappeared for everyone else now too?

El-Cid  Who fucking cares what Sebaya's gender is.
Xy'xala  Khel: I'm not American, it's kinda worrying that you leapt to that conclusion if you see what i mean there :) I was actually in Koln in October for Gamescom, for my work. ;) I partied with lots of german people, I was made an honourary member of a gang at one point wore some guy's jacket to stop me getting myself into trouble (Iamtrouble) ha. I made many friends there. :)
♥ This is not a good thread for a serious political discussion but what you need to remember is what led to Hitler was not just one man, if it had not been him it would have been someone else (did you know that there were plans to do an assassination but they were called off in fears that someone more competent might get the helm), the mentality that leads to fascist-like behaviour is something that is a root problem in humanity. it's not just one event either - similar stuff happens every day, somewhere, because people let it: [link] Failing to call authoritarian behaviour out when it happens is the real problem, it's silence that leads to imagined consent and so they carry on not realising what how they act is wrong - because no one wants to be the first one to break the herd and stand up to it.

Even when it's just internet games, people with that kind of mentality go out to act in the same way in real life, it's especially worrying when they aren't just social outcasts (Sebaya, Vaanthe, Scriptorium) but people that have real positions of power in real life too (like Ganden and Tziena)... The internet is just like a giant social experiment: [link]
Kyada  @ El-cid: The deception that Sebaya has pulled off is to try to escape past wrongdoings of harrassment, blackmail, and slander against others.
khaniexlove  Thanks for adding me. (:

Tau  Its a trap

you guys better start looking into Agenda 21 and codex alimentarius. it lays the plan for the environment having more rights then the human. global sustainability comes to only one conclusion and that is there are too many of us for the planet to sustain with the current method of govenance.

We need to abolish money and move to a resource based economy. but fat chance of that happening

The real question is who is the sith lord? I am putting my money on it being the Pope. :p

Xy'xala  Ouch Zarrik seems the Enjin comment bug got you I learned to CTRL+A then CTRL+C all my posts then reload the page to check if it's cut off or not, it's pretty bad but it's still new I hope they will fix it
Rainfeather  I'm sort of on wave with Zarrik at this point. When I did digital art with poser and photoshop, I always stuck to my own art from the offset. Influences were many but everything was self designed, even with base sketches before I went digital at all. Took me forever to learn to use the computer for my art. I was the worst tablet user the web has probably ever seen! I think though that anyone who has created something from scratch will feel the same way. The internet makes rip-offs too common. Filters arent
Rainfeather  (clipped) creative/or art.

Personally I think too few are crusading against the ridiculous amount of creative copying and theft. Claiming it as their own. Copyright, Theft, and Asking for someones permission to use art. Those concepts exist for good reason imo

As you say Xy'xala, being recognised for your work, or having it stolen.

Very different things ::)
