could also be the anti virus program. I was myself tired of ctd in BC2, so went trough EA's BC2 forum. Where one guy stated after he installed ms anti virus program he didn't have one single ctd and uses very little resources. So laste weekend I uninstalled avast and installed ms anti virus program. Sunday I was able to play BC2 from around 2 pm to around 2-3 am without a single ctd.
MS anti virus program is free you only need a valid os.
